    "description": "The Joint Research Unit on Cereal Genetics, Diversity and Ecophysiology (GDEC) brings together INRAE (the BAP, AgroEnv and Clermont Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes Centre scientific departments) and the University of Clermont-Auvergne. The projects, developed within research teams working on interconnected themes, focus on soft wheat, a model species of agronomic importance. At the interface between fundamental and applied research, their common objective is to improve the quality and yield of wheat within a context of sustainable agriculture and climate change.\r\nThe UMR GDEC has platforms equipped with the latest facilities: Bioinformatics, VégéPôle – for the production of plant material under controlled conditions, CRB – Centre for Biological Resources of Straw Cereals, Gentyane (high-throughput sequencing and genotyping), ValFon – Functional Validation (wheat transgenesis, mutant collections).\r\nField trials are conducted in collaboration with the INRAE PHACC Experimental Unit, with the UMR and the EU managing the Pheno3C High-Throughput Phenotyping Platform, which enables the study of genotype-environment interactions under field conditions and the testing of the impact of key climate change parameters (water stress, atmospheric [CO2]) .",
