The aim of this training course is to familiarize participants with the use of the command line for use on a computing cluster in order to acquire the basics for processing biological data. Presentation of the computing cluster infrastructure at the Mésocentre Clermont Auvergne. Introduction to the Linux environment. Introduction to a scripting language with the Bash shell. Command line manipulation of biological data files. How to connect to the computing server. Learning the Bash computer language and how to navigate in a Linux environment. Practical exercises in entering commands on a terminal without a graphical interface. Learning file management, how to create files, manage access rights, manipulate them and transfer them to the computing cluster or retrieve them on your local workstation.
